If you just want to relax, enjoying the tranquility while relaxing can be joyous. California is known for its scenic beauty. Enjoy the weather and surroundings. Some of the most famous beaches are in California. Where ever you are at in California, the Pacific Ocean is never far away.

The wonderful thing about camping in California is that it is so diverse. The parks, the beaches, lakes, in the city, the beaches, – they are all fabulous where you can go camping. Best of all, most of the places have terrific accommodations.

Southern California is warm and sunny almost all year round. In the middle of November, don’t be too shocked at people wearing flip flops or going surfing. If you are camping at a coastal ground, you might come across wave lovers that won’t let a little cold weather stop them from doing what they love.

But if you are not up to that, you can always go to one of the famous deserts (like Palm Springs) and enjoy your time there. They are famous for their golf courses and sunny weather. You might find the deserts to be warmer. And the pools and Jacuzzis are kept warm.

The summer weather in southern California can reach triple digits. If you do not like scorching hot weather, take a trip up north where it is still sunny yet cool. The bay area weather around winter time is beautiful. It is sunny and slightly warm, but at night, it is pleasantly cool. Enjoy a fun-filled time there and be sure to visit some of the local attractions while you are there.

Renting an RV and finding a park is what most people tend to do when camping. The art of camping in modern times makes it more comfortable. Some people like to do it the old fashioned way and rough it. It seems nobody ever sleeps in tents anymore. We’ve become too spoiled.

The next time you go camping in PA (Pennsylvania) there are some things you should consider. When you think of camping and the outdoors most think of Yosemite Yellowstone and large famous parks. Pennsylvania, though not on the top of the list has other attractions that you should be aware of.

Most campers go out for the campsites in the spring and summer. This is due to the seasonal campgrounds. Pennsylvania has three state parks that are year round ventures. These parks are Little Pine, Ole bull, and Promised Land. The cold might be a factor for some campers. The state is located in the upper northeast and winters see snowfall and cold temperatures. This can be remedy by the cabins available at the campsites.

At one particular park Promised Land has a 422 acre lake, which fishing is a common pastime. During the winter season ice fishing is also a big hit among visitors. That is not the only attraction during the long winter months. There are hundreds of trails open for cross county skiing. Twenty three miles of trail is also open for snowmobiles. Along with the trailers and RV you can take to the campsite log cabins are available.

Seasonal parks in Pennsylvania have other attractions. Among these seasonal state parks are Parker Dam, Shawnee, Prince Gallitzin, Champan, Gifford Pinchot, Pine Grove Furnace and the large Pymatuning. Tourist and avid campers alike flock to Pymatining State Park. It is one of the most visited parks in Pennsylvania. This maybe due to is vast size of 21, 122 acres and its reservoir that is over 17, 000 acres. Both being some of the biggest Pennsylvania state parks have to offer.

There are some rules and regulations, just like at any state park for camping. The rules are mostly simple, things like no fires outside of the fire holes and grills. Meaning no open flames in a very flammable environment. You are allowed to bring pets, such as dogs, cats and small caged animals. On the state park’s land and campgrounds there will be no alcohol allowed. There are several local campsites that are not on state land that allow the possession and consumption of alcohol.

Beware of leaving out food around the campsite. Pennsylvania has populations of black bears and coyotes. Hunting and game is another activity that can be done in the state park system. You will need the proper permits paper work and hunt during the right season. The most usual game include wild turkey, whitetail deer, grouse, and pheasant.

If hunting isn’t on the menu, but observing wildlife is you can visit an elk range. Elk are larger then deer and males can weigh up to a thousand pounds. You can drop by one of the ranges near your campsite.

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

Taking a vacation in France has changed a great deal in recent years and if you want to camp in France today, you will find a great many very well equipped facilities. Mobile homes and family tents are luxurious to say the least and site offer everything the holiday maker needs to have relaxing and entertaining time.

Relaxing and being entertained is easy when you are in France, they cater for a huge tourist industry, and many very attractive camp sites in both country and coastal setting are available. Moving from site to site when you are camping is also easy, you just pack up and move to a newer more beautiful place.

Resort-like French campsites are well organized and maintained, they have every facility you would ever need, and are great value for money. If you are careful how you choose your site when you camp in France, you should be able to find a good one that will allow you access to the coastline and the countryside, so that you can enjoy the best of both worlds.

All areas of France cater for campers, from the Alps to the Vendee, and even the Cote d’Azure! Take Granny and Granpa with you as well as the kids, and make it a real family holiday.

Royan and Gascony are only two of the areas worth a mention, every where in France has something special to offer. These areas are famous for long sandy beaches, high dunes, and even pine forests, a strange eclectic mixture of landscapes. Congnac vineyards dot the slopes of the River Charente valley and Royan is a popular choice for many campers. The forest of La Coubre surround this area, making it extremely picturesque, and the Island of Oléron, with its ancient citadel may be reach by bridge, this isle also has excellent beaches

Food and France work hand in hand, and restaurants proffer fine wines and even finer food to their guest. What money you save by camping, should be used to sample some of the local seafood and other fare. For really great wine making it is highly recommended that you pay a visit to the Médoc peninsula in Royan.

One of the most important oyster farming areas can be found just south of Bordeaux, and Bordeaux wines are also world recognized. If you visit this area, leave the kids to organized camp site activities and take time out to sample the wines, this is an outing you will never forget.

The Most Delicious Choices Of Camping Food

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

Camping is one of the past times for many families and friends. This allows people to get  together. The big task of each day is cooking the camping food  though. Here  are some of the things that we always looked forward to.

The first thing when it comes to camp food that  you have to have is beans. All you need is a little pot to cook them on. Just open the can  and warm them up. Then you have dinner. It’s really that simple.

Something we loved to have also while we camped was popcorn. You listen to ghost stories and  as you are entranced by the story teller you are eating popcorn that was popped in aluminum  foil. Kernel by delicious kernel you enjoy the flavor.

Since you wont’ have access to a refrigerator or one would assume you need to have  dehydrated products. Who said you had to give up your favorite meals? Of course you can do grilled corn on the cob. Again, wrap it in foil paper and you can have  the best corn on the cob for camping food. Add a few ingredients. You’ll love it.

Yet another thing that you need for camping food that you also need to get at the grocery  store is popcorn seeds. Many people love popcorn when they are camping out. It’s fun to  watch it pop too. Just buy some powdered butter and you have a nice snack when you get  hungry.

Last, to add to your camping food adventure, you need to find are things to add that you can  just take as a snack or eat quickly. These are things you don’t have to heat up, but does  help like when you hike and all. These are like raisins, nuts, and cereals.

With this list and idea of the camping food that you love, you can have whatever you like.  Here are just a few items that the majority of people like. This is including me. So if you  ever wonder what you need, here are some things to start with.

Camping In Mexico – You Better Be Flexible To Enjoy It

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

If you are a camper and you enjoy a challenge, a camping trip to Mexico could be just the challenge you are looking for. It is a country of mystery and intrigue, but is you have never camped before, leave visiting Mexico until you have a little experience. Finding yourself off the main highway and in the dessert is easily done and you have to be prepared for any eventuality.

Planning is essential, and the trip to successful camping is to take everything you need, but not too much!  Because regardless of how careful your planning you have to be  adventurous, because and incident free trip is rare.

The most fantastic camping opportunities are likely to appear out of nowhere, and this is the beauty of camping. Memories are made of this, but be aware that you have to have a lot of nerve to pull it off, Mexico is not for shrinking violets, so if you are made of sterner stuff, you will be just fine.

You have to be prepared to camp and dress for any conditions, and one night you could be in  the searing dessert and the next in snowy, pine forested mountains. One good thing is that  dessert night conditions are cold, so you will have clothing for both these eventualities.  You may even experience tropical storms!

To really enjoy a Mexican camping experience you have to be very flexible and be able to go with the flow. Because of the extremes, even the best lad plans go astray and you have to be able to adapt to this.

Use camping checklists, you will find these online, they will help you ensure you have everything  you need in its most compact form. Shop for your luxuries in the US, while shopping in  unfamiliar stores in unfamiliar Mexican towns is fun, if you are a woman and you want a  Hershey bar now, you will be in for a long wait. Nachos can never replace your favorite  chocolate bar.

Never drink tap water, unless you have boiled it or purified it, bottled water is always the safest. Make sure you have enough water with you, your nearest Chevron, may be a long way away. Take toilet paper, sunscreen and biodegradable toiletries.

Make sure you have an emergency medical kit, you need it to be compact, yet comprehensive,  find a checklist for this online too. My mother suggests, anti-diarrhea and nausea  medication, elastoplasts of various sizes, asprin and brandy (her cure all).

Camping In Florida Is Beautiful And Fun!

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

Camping is the ultimate adventure, and camping in Florida is inexpensive as well as great fun. You have one initial outlay of expense, when you purchase your camping gear and thereafter it should give you many years of service. The expense factor is what draws many adventurers to camping, but they also enjoy it as a way of going on vacation more often than you might normally be able to afford. Camp site fees are not expensive and you don’t have to be a certain type of person to enjoy this kind of holiday.

There is such a lot to do and see in Florida. It has a fantastic coastline to be explored, but the interior is also very beautiful. Florida has very good weather which makes it an idea destination for camping. Lovely golden beaches and warm seas to swim in are a draw card, but this is not all Florida is about.

This state has a strong Cuban culture and you can enjoy this in Panama City and Miami. The beaches are beautiful and the coast is a strong draw-card for visitors. Camping is the best way to travel for many families.

The oldest city in Florida is Milton which was incorporated in 1844. This is the county seat for Santa Rosa County, and it is and interesting City as well as a great place to make camp. Not in the city of course, but in one of the many campsites you will find in the surrounding countryside.

It is a sportsman’s paradise and if it is adventure you are seeking, adventure is what you will find. Water sports are great fun, as is learning to rope and enjoying nature at the same time. A centrally located area like Milton allows the visitor access to many fun-filled activities and is close enough to Fort Walton, Pensacola and Panama City to allow the visitor to take day drives to these areas. There are plenty of camping facilities available, so you can just lift up your temporary home and move on to wherever tickles your fancy.

Nearby to Milton, you will find one of the most beautiful National Parks, the Blackwater River State Park, and this is a nature lovers hot spot. It is situated only 15 miles away from the city, has great facilities in the camping grounds and visitors are able to enjoy pristine riverside nature at its very best. This National park is fantastic for swimming, fishing and kayaking.

The Gulfarium in Fort Walton is a must see if you are visiting the area. This is an aquarium, and a great place to learn about the see creatures who inhabit the Florida coast and wetlands. Remember this is the state where you find the Florida Keyes. The dolphins and sea Lions are very entertaining and the creatures of the aquarium are very interesting.
