Things you can do to increase the price of your property

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

Garden is one of the biggest factors of your property. Having a clear beautiful looking garden can increase your property value by 20 to 30%. Many homeowners are rebuilding their garden so that the value of their property climbs up in the market. Most homeowners are building swimming pools, outdoor trampolines and other factors which might be in interest of the buyer.

I think that is a brilliant idea. Another good idea would be if you have a big garden then increase the size of your conservatory to create extra rooms. I have recently increased the size of my conservatory and also included the toilet there. Before it was a two bedroom house with 1 bathroom, 1 living room and 1 reception but now it is a three bedroom house with two bathrooms, one reception, one conservatory and one living room. This change cost me approx £2,500 but has increased the value of my property by 20% from what it was before even in this credit crunch.

This is just one example, you wouldn’t believe what my Uncle did in his garden, he built a play ground which includes five swings, two 12ft trampolines with safety nets and pads, 5 benches and a water fountain. How could he afford it? He has been a Doctor for over 40 years so this was nothing for him. His pension is more than my yearly salary, so just imagine how big his house is. I asked him why he built a playground, he replied: in few years he wants to sell this house and buy a small house for he and his wife but also mentioned if the house doesn’t sell he would like to open the back garden for his neighbourhood kids and also allow a nursery next to his house to use the play ground. What a really good idea. He can even charge the nursery to use it so he won’t really be loosing anything. I am now thinking to add a 10ft trampoline for my garden and make it a playground for my kids.

Trying out Inflatable Kayaks

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Nature is a lovely home and no where is this better experienced than out on the waters kayaking. Kayaking is a great way for people to enjoy the natural outdoors of the environment on their own or with a partner. With the use of a Kayak, rivers or rapids can be explored. For people who wish to explore this path, buying a kayak will obviously be the first thing on the list.

Kayaks can be bought at outdoor stores. Buying a kayak at these locations will give people the tools that they require for their outdoor river experience. At a good outdoor store, most people will be able to find the right gear and equipment which will be used during the kayaking. There are three common types of kayaks available. Individuals can either buy plastic kayaks, inflatable kayaks or hard shelled kayaks. Inflatable kayak are used more frequently than other forms.

There are many benefits of using inflatable kayaks. For instance they are generally a lot more affordable than other options. However, this does not mean that they value is weakened. They are easily portable and are not as heavy as plastic or a hard shelled Kayaking. Inflatable kayaks are also very resilient and provide durable and tough protection for its users. There is very little difference in this regard with other forms of kayaks.

Inflatable kayaks are capable of carrying substantial weight. Even though they weigh very little, an inflatable kayak is capable of carrying several hundred pounds. Inflatable kayaks can therefore carry individuals as well as extra equipment or gear into the water. Most people will find it easy carrying their kayaks into the water on the water all on their own.

There are many tips and advises which people will normally receive at an Outdoor store. For instance, people are urged not leave water inside their kayaks before putting it away from storage. Storing kayaks with residual moisture is widely agreed to be a bad idea because this can cause the growth of mildew and mold. Cracks and abrasions can then be formed as a result of this.

Inflatable kayaks should also not be completely inflated before being put in storage. This provides them with better longevity. Prolonged exposure of inflatable kayaks to sunlight can also yield negative results. Because of this, the storage areas of inflatable kayaks should be dry and dark. Basement and garages are excellent choices in this regard.

So, I invite you to visit my outdoor gear store for more inflatable kayaks, inflatable kayaks on sale, discount kayaks today.

Outdoor adventures to do in Nepal

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Flying can be rather dangerous in Nepal but it also also be very enjoyable. Capital city Kathmandu is surrounded with high mountains and you will have to fly between mountains to a different city within Nepal. Flying experiences for me in Nepal was one of the scariest but very exciting experience I have had so far in my life. Here are some activities you can do in Nepal.

For site seeing of Himalaya it is wise to catch a morning flight to get a clear view of the Mountains and the Landscape. Airlines such as Tara Air and Buddha Airways provide cheap flights to different destinations of Nepal. It gives you an opportunity to see different sides of Nepal including mountains, white river and green landscapes. It is vital to book and reconfirm your flight a few days ahead as local flights in Nepal can change at a moment’s notice. If you are travelling to a remote destination it is vital you should do this.

If you are looking to go to the range of Mount Everest, there are flights you will be able to catch or do a long journey through trekking and bus rides, local people go through bus but normally all tourists catch the plane. This gives you an opportunity to see the highest peak of the World. While you are enjoying becoming a passenger in these flights, there is also a place where you can learn to fly a plane. Flying your own plane is just that bit more exciting than becoming a passenger to enjoy these Mountains and Landscapes.

You will also be able to enjoy other outdoor activities such as trekking, paragliding, white river rafting and more. You will be able to enjoy all the above outdoor activities in a city called Pokhara. Pokhara is the second biggest city of Nepal after Kathmandu. Other than the activities there are other things you will be able to enjoy such as Wildlife in Chitwan, Highest Temple Manakamana, Ancient Palaces in Gorkha.

Montjuic magic fountains at Barcelona

If you are thinking about taking your other half for a romantic weekend this Valentines then I would recommend you to visit Barcelona. If you have visited Barcelona before and your hasn’t then this is a good opportunity to show them around Barcelona as you have already been there.

Barcelona is filled with culture and history, so for romantic getaway or normal holiday this is one of the best cities to be in. To travel to Barcelona from UK you will be able to find cheap flights through Ryan Air and Easy Jet. Once you reach Barcelona there would be many things for you to do for your weekend, to be honest there are so many things to see that you might not have enough time to visit all those places.

With Tibidabo Mountain at the back and a beautiful Mediterranean Sea at the bottom this is one of the ideal places for your romantic getaways. To view the Mountain you can take cable cars which goes up to the old military fort on the top of Montjuic hill and they also do water sportswhich might the thing you look for other than sight seeing.

There are other things you will be able to do in Barcelona. You can catch a tour bus which travels around the city to view the beautiful Antonio Gaudi’s architecture, these buildings are scattered all around the city. Another is the famous long street of Las Ramblas, this is not just a straight road as you get to see so much in this street. Another must see place is gothic quarter for gothic cathedral.

My favorite romantic spot in Barcelona is Montjuic where there is a beautiful water fountain, the video is attached in this post.. It is known as the magical fountain of Montjuic. You will see people from different culture and country in this spot relaxing and enjoying the beautiful view with a smile on their faces. This is the exact spot where I met my other half and we try and make time to visit this place every year to recollect and remember the sweet memories of our first meeting.

How do trampolines get made?

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Trampolines are made of four basic components the tubing, springs, safety pads and jumping mat. Nowadays most trampolines have safety nets attached to it for safety reasons.

The tubing is used to make the frame and legs of the trampoline. Galvanised steel is used to make the legs. These steel protect the metal from rust and various weather conditions as many trampolines are purchased for outdoor use.

Spring is used to generate the boune for the trampolines. Generally manufacturers have a specification of what type of springs they would like for their trampolines and they allocate this task to a spring specialists company to produce the springs for them.

The jumping mats are made of woven fibres, this gives the mat a strong hold. Nowadays you will see that most trampolines are made of nylon or plastic.

Safety pads are made of foam and they go over the springs and frame. They use vinyl covers and pie straps to connect the pads to the frame. The safety pad foam core is also manufactured by a different company for many trampolines manufacturers. All the above is essential products of the process in building trampolines.

Here is something you might find interesting, one of the trampoline manufacturer has around 80 people working for them 8 hours a day who help build over 500 trampolines. Is it Daily? Weekly? Monthly? Yearly? this quiz is for you.. There are some manufacturers who only build trampolines for athletes and some who produce for everyone from 8ft trampolines to 14ft trampolines for home and outdoor use.

Recently it was annouced a UK based trampoline company was planning to design a trampoline without the frames. Their logic behind this was to prevent injuries, as most injuries occur when falling into the metal frames.

When the trampolines are ready to goto the market, they are fully tested by the manufacturers.

Our Journey, Info – Emergency Camping Kits

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

Why most of the camps and campers are strongly adviced to equip themself with one of the many various emergency kits and gps navigation? We have witnessed enough and more natural and human made disasters that now we all have arrived at the consciousness of being alert and prepared for emergencies. The country has been hit severely with cruel weather the past few years with hurricane Katrina and the California fires making the top of the list. During which time a lot of people lost evry single belonging they ever possessed and were asked to move away to temporary shelters. These locations are not always the best in sanitation and comfort…. Also many families were left stranded without any shelter for some time.

This is the initial point at which many people thought about emergency camping kits, in a serious light. People from around the country have taken up interest in having a backup plan such as an emergency camping kit to fall back on in case of a disaster. All states have advised their citizens to be prepared with a proper plan of action in case there is an emergency. Any plan of emergency relief would require the services of emergency camping kits. All families should have a supply kit or emergency camping kits to support each member of the family whenever it s needed. Most emergency camping kits consist of rationed food, fresh water, tools, outdoor camping equipment and also proper identification backups.

Emergency camping kits can sometimes be put together by combining simple things. And the first step towards this plan is to have a discussion with family members and draw out a plan. Then the emergency camping kits of each individual in the family should be formulated and packed accordingly to fulfill each persons needs at a time of emergency. As an example, you cannot assign a lot of weight to be carried out by the smallest member of the family. Therefore his/her kit will have to be lightweight. The head of the family should carry the most important load. And each member should carry proper identification.

There are many companies that allow you to compile your emergency camping kits with the help of their expertise. This will help in many ways including the safety that your family deserves. These companies are available online with many websites being dedicated solely to providing emergency relief aide and expertise. These websites may help you plan out your emergency plan and your emergency camping kits.

So stop worrying about the safety of your family unnecessarily. If you re prepared that would be the best chance for your loved ones. Start planning your emergency camping kits right now!.

Camping in California is very exciting. The attractions in California are like no other. California is known for its famous state and national parks. The local attractions have tourists keep coming back. When you are camping in California, you will create memories that will last a life time.

For the active individual, many of the campgrounds offer activities for all ages. You can go hiking, swimming, fishing, etc. Bring your family and friends and have an experience of a life time. Some of the most famous beaches are in California. Where ever you are at in California, the Pacific Ocean is never far away.

The wonderful thing about camping in California is that it is so diverse. The parks, the beaches, lakes, in the city, the beaches, – they are all fabulous where you can go camping. Best of all, most of the places have terrific accommodations.

Southern California is warm and sunny almost all year round. In the middle of November, don’t be too shocked at people wearing flip flops or going surfing. If you are camping at a coastal ground, you might come across wave lovers that won’t let a little cold weather stop them from doing what they love.

But if you are not up to that, you can always go to one of the famous deserts (like Palm Springs) and enjoy your time there. They are famous for their golf courses and sunny weather. You might find the deserts to be warmer. And the pools and Jacuzzis are kept warm.

The summer weather in southern California can reach triple digits. If you do not like scorching hot weather, take a trip up north where it is still sunny yet cool. The bay area weather around winter time is beautiful. It is sunny and slightly warm, but at night, it is pleasantly cool. Enjoy a fun-filled time there and be sure to visit some of the local attractions while you are there.

Renting an RV and finding a park is what most people tend to do when camping. The art of camping in modern times makes it more comfortable. Some people like to do it the old fashioned way and rough it. It seems nobody ever sleeps in tents anymore. We’ve become too spoiled.
